Two cowboys having a duel in a ghost town.

Though these may not all be ranked, this is my favourite photo from the semester. I try to use a lot of colour in my photos, so going black and white is a slight departure from the norm. However, the snowy weather created an amazing atmosphere and depth to the photo. I also love how the road between them creates a contrast between the two figures.

Bannack Montana Portrait

The model, David Walker, is one of the funniest people I’ve ever worked with. He is a rock star on the stage and in front of the camera. I’ve never worked with continuous lighting before, but I loved being able to utilize complimentary colours.

Horse Face in the snow

When working with the horses at Bannack, snow started dumping on all of us. Thankfully, the snow added a unique element to the photo. I also liked the use of the rule of thirds to frame the horse’s eye.

This was one of the first photos I took this semester. Like the shootout, the use of black and white added to the atmosphere. It was also a lot of fun working with my skateboarder and fellow photographer friend Abram on the project.

Squirrel in a tree

I love the depth in this photo of a squirrel. In camera I thought the photo was overexposed, but once I got into the editing software, I loved how the light interacted with both the squirrel and the leaves around it.
