Creating Online Media Using Food and Product Photography

This was my first time really delving deep into food and product photography, and I really loved it! I feel like my style really lent itself to the medium of food and product photography. During our trip, we took a day in Island Park, Idaho to shoot food and products that the students took with them.

At the location, we had several food and product stations set up throughout the cabin. I really enjoyed working with different lighting setups to get different effects. For example, with the balsamic vinegar photo, we used a natural backlight coming through the window and a reflector as a fill.

During our excursion, we had a few stations set up outside on the river. I took one of my Bluetooth speakers on the trip. A buddy of mine, Dallin Thomas (who happens to be a wildly talented photographer so you should check out his Instagram), and I put some boots on and went out into the water. I placed my speaker on a rock and turned it so it was backlit by the sun. I then had my friend splash some water behind it to create a cool bokeh effect. When we got out of the water, we found a table set up with some coke bottles. Using a reflector, we were able to get some cool stuff!
